Toybank begins its activities by distributing toys to over 1,500 children in Mumbai on Children’s Day.

Toybank’s Bangalore chapter, manned entirely by volunteers, opens. Toybank is selected for the Ashoka Changelooms fellowship programme.
Keeping it going
Toybank reaches over 8,000 children in Mumbai. Toybank founder Shweta Chari is nominated for the MTV Youth Icon award.
Stamp of approval
Toybank gets registered as a Trust. Toybank opens two centres in Bhutan. UK’s Channel 4 covers Toybank in its programme, ‘Slumdog Secret Millionaire’.
First play center
Toybank has now reached over 25,000 children. The first play center is set up in Mumbai. Toybank’s Delhi chapter begins operations.
The Times of India covers Toybank’s work. Toybank founder Shweta Chari wins ‘Star Social Entrepreneur’ award at the Indira International Innovation Summit.
Going to the villages
Toybank begins operations in rural Maharashtra. By this year, Toybank has reached over 45,000 children. Times Now covers Toybank’s work.
